How To Make Waterleaf Stew Recipe



   Waterleaf stew is a delicious recipe loved by most Nigerians most especially the Yorubas and Igbos . It is prepared with all sort of ingredients to give it a lovely aroma, and taste. Moreover, waterleaf is crunchy. 

There are different method in which waterleaf soup can be made.

1.) Gbure Elegusi

2.) Edikang Ikong

3.) Roasted waterleaf

4.) Stewed waterleaf

   Waterleaf soup is made waterleaf itself. Waterleaves are vegetables which contains alot of water, and nutrients such as Iron, calcium, vitamin C.

   Waterleaf is clarified to have two scientific names which are Talinum fruticosum, and Talinum Triangulare. They are healthy to the body, and improve the function of the part of the body.  They serves as bone health, iron deficiency, and eye health. 

   How To Make Waterleaf Soup

  INGREDIENTS

1.) 4 Tomatoes

2.) 6 Scotch Bonnet Pepper

3.) 2 Tatashe

4.) 1 cup palm oil

5.) 2 large onions

6.) Meat

7.) Meat

8.) Titus Fish

9.) 1/2 cup grounded crayfish

10.) Shrimps

11.) 2 Big stock fish

12.) 1/2 cup pumpkin leaves

13.) 3 cups waterleaf

14.) Maggi

15.) Salt to taste


  INSTRUCTIONS

1.) Seasoning the chicken with salt, Maggi, onions, Curry powder, and thyme into a clean rinsed pot and on fire. It would takes at minimum 20minutes for the whole stock to be prepared. As soon as it 13minutes, rinse in the stock fish, Titus fish, shrimps. Cook for more 7minutes.

2.) Alongside cooking the meat stock, wash pepper, tomatoes, tatashe, and onions into a clean rinsed blender. Chop them.

3.) After cooking the meat stock, get another cooking pot to prepare the soup. Rinse and set on fire. Let all water dry up. Add the palm oil to heat up for 2minutes, put in the slice Onions to it. Fry enough, then simply add in the chopped pepper to it. Mix well, to let it cook for 5minutes.

4.) After 5minutes, pour both the meat water, and stock, also with the grinded crayfish. Add little salt, and seasoning to taste. Remember.... You have seasoning the meat stock. Mix thoroughly, and steam up for another 5minutes.

5.) Rinse thoroughly the pumpkin leaves, sprinkle to the surface of the stew,  mix up together. Cover for 2minutes. Then finally rinse in the waterleaf. Mix up. Cover to for 3minutes.

5.) Waterleaf Stew is ready to eat. Serve with rice, Spaghetti, or any swallow food of your choice.
